VA has awarded a $9.5M contract for DbProtect Vulnerability Management Software Licenses to Cynergy Professional Systems. The contract was awarded using NASA SEWP V.

VA, Office of Information and Technology, Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) requires 2,000 additional brand name Trustwave DbProtect software licenses with maintenance support. In addition, VA requires maintenance support on the existing 9,000 Trustwave DbProtect software

licenses. Trustwave DbProtect software licenses are currently implemented in combination with Trustwave’s App Detective Pro (ADP) as part of VA’s database threat protection platform to audit database security across the enterprise. The Trustwave DbProtect software licenses functions include management framework, security controls, controls monitoring, and governance, which make it a comprehensive database security solution.

Based on market research, as described in section 8 of this document, it was determined that limited competition is viable among authorized resellers for the brand name Trustwave DbProtect

Vulnerability Management software licenses and maintenance support. VA’s existing database threat protection platform consists of an unlimited license of Trustwave’s ADP Vulnerability Assessment software and 9,000 Trustwave DbProtect licenses. The VANSOC and its IT security partners’ database scanning infrastructures are based upon this existing Trustwave proprietary software and VA requires additional Trustwave DbProtect software licenses that are compatible and interoperable with VA’s existing Trustwave infrastructure to allow for a seamless integration with the existing database scanning protocols. No other brand name product is interoperable with the existing Trustwave database structures and software application programming interfaces utilized

by the existing ADP and DbProtect Vulnerability Management software due to proprietary constraints.
