Press Release: Ready Computing Wins Contract for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Data Integration and Federation (VDIF)

“Ready Computing, an innovative leader in healthcare IT services and solutions, has been awarded a five-year contract by the VA to support a key transition from the legacy Veterans Information System and Technology Architecture (VistA) Electronic Health Record (EHR) to the joint VA and Department of Defense (DoD) Cerner EHR platform. To facilitate this large-scale and complex transition, the VA, along with the Ready Computing Team, will sustain and integrate with the Veterans Data Integration and Federation (VDIF) Enterprise Platform (VDIF EP).”

“The VA is the nation’s largest integrated healthcare system, servicing more than nine million Veterans. Under the EHR Modernization (EHRM) initiative, the VA is faced with the mission-critical challenge of integrating historical and real-time data into a composite Veteran Health Record. Once integrated, the composite data must be accessible by Cerner and other applications through Application Programming Interfaces (API) based on integration profiles and standards such as IHE, HL7, X12, C-CDA, and FHIR. In order to create the Veteran Health Record, approximately 130 instances of VistA, as well as many other VA assets such as the Master Veterans Index (MVI) and the Identity and Access Manager (IAM), will be integrated under the VDIF EP.” Read the full press release here.
