IG gives HHS and CMS 25 recommendations on how to better spend its money

“Health and Human Services now has 25 ways to improve how it spends taxpayer money. The agency’s inspector general released a list of recommendations that, if implemented, would help with cost savings, program effectiveness and efficiency, and public health and safety. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services account for 18 of the 25 recommendations. The IG also says headquarters is falling short in ensuring the Improper Payments Information Act is fully employed to address systemic shortcomings.
