DOC Bureau of Economic Analysis issues RFP for Healthcare Consultative & Research Services

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) will enter into a BPA for a variety of consultative and research services, to be provided by subject matter experts (SMEs) in the fields of economics and statistics, and other related areas, to satisfy the ongoing requirement for consultative, advisory, and research services in support of the mission. The objectives are to allow the Bureau of Economic Analysis the capabilities to: Improve response time to customers; Reduce development cycle times; Improve automation; Avoid/save costs (reduce duplicative software/hardware/operations/labor); and Improve customer service overall.

Firm fixed price Call Orders will be awarded to contractors able to provide services for one or more of the following requirements:

  • Provide consultative and advisory services in support of the BEA Satellite Account for Health Care.
  • Develop a set of statistics that will measure health-care spending throughout the U.S. economy by providing a broad look at how much Americans spend on medical care, as well as a more detailed view over time.
  • Collect data for spending by disease, along with BEA’s proposed disease- level price indexes, to provide a much clearer picture of the drivers of medical care cost increases.
  • Combine health-related data currently held in different sections of the NIPAs…”

This BPA will have a period of performance of five years from the time of award.  Call Orders for services may be issued any time, beginning in August 2019 through August 2024. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
