The Chief Consultant for Change Management is located in the Veterans Health Administration in the Department of Veterans Affairs and supports the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization, Chief Medical Office (CMO). The Chief Consultant will oversee the daily operations alongside and in support of the Deputy CMO. Together, the Deputy CMO and Chief Consultant will have oversight of change management strategies, and execution as well as change management training and stakeholder engagement activities in a clinical environment.
The incumbent advises and supports the Deputy CMO in the development of strategic and long-range planning for organizational change management as well as expansion planning. These duties include addressing change management strategic activities and ensuring national strategy is adapted to fit regional needs at the VISN and VA Medical Center level. As a member of the OEHRM and CMO senior leadership teams this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, programs and services consistent with the organization’s vision, and active participation in a leadership role by collaborating with the organization’s executive management in designing and providing quality patient care and services.
The focus of the position involves leadership of the transformation vision, stakeholder engagement, change impact and organizational readiness ensuring training aligned with regional and local needs is provided. The incumbent is closely involved with collaboration activities and oversees efforts with VISN and VA Medical Centers change leaders and coordinators such as implementation planning to adapt national strategy to fit regional needs. The incumbent ensures that the people most affected by the change are prepared and engaged for successful adoption and sustainability and serves in a key leadership role to drive adoption across the VA enterprise.
