VA issues RFI for Space Management Support System (SMSS) IT Support Contract

The SMSS aids VA in tasks such as relocating groups, making sure that space allocated to a person is in line with VA staffing guidelines, visualizing existing space based on occupancy and other scenarios. Additionally, an application was developed within the SMSS framework to pull billing data from General Services Administration (GSA) to the VACO Rent/Lease Application and send an itemized invoice to VACO tenants for rent/lease space within VACO buildings.

The Contractor shall provide sustainment IT support for the SMSS to include the web application’s software code and the database design of the SMSS database. The Contractor shall sustain the OA SMSS, to include the Rent/Lease application and software system infrastructure. The Contractor shall sustain the SMSS Geographic Information System (GIS) Application system infrastructure. The Contractor shall sustain the SMSS data connections that feed the system. The Contractor shall add new facilities, modify existing facilities, and delete facilities that are no longer needed within the SMSS and GIS applications to reflect the current VACO campus facilities.
