UT Health seeking Assistant Deputy Director, Military Health Institute

“Job Summary:

Provides operational oversight for Military Health Institute to include the daily financial and administrative operations. Responsible for the management and strategic planning of the Institution and Military Health objectives. Interacts with senior leadership in the DoD, VA, Federal, State and local entities, UT System, UT Health San Antonio, and external organizations to develop and strengthen strategic partnerships in education, research and clinical care. Works with the MHI Director to enhance internal and external strategic communication. Works with the Vice President for Research, Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Technology Commercialization and Associate Deans for Research to increase DoD/VA research grants and military-related medical device/theraputic development and commercialization. Works with the Office of Institutional Advancement to identitfy and obtain external philanthropic funding…”

  1. Develops, manages, and controls budgets and a variety of financial data. Establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
  2. Ensures successful completion of MHI tasks and work plan objectives through sound administrative and management processes.
  3. Assists with the preparation and management of grant and contract proposals involving a variety of funding sources and agencies…”

“Experience:

Five (5) years of Military Health Care System or related experience is required. Extensive relationships with DoD/VA leaders and stakeholders is highly preferred…”
