Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seeks Deputy Chief Information Officer

The “Deputy CIO will serve as principal advisor to the CIO on leading CDC’s innovative, collaborative and cost-effective IT and informatics programs which support CDC’s mission, vision, and strategic goals; manage the day-to-day operational activities of the OCIO; represent CDC in agency and government-wide meetings with governance entities and other partners; manage information resources by implementing shared services, innovative approaches, program process improvements, establishing standards-based IT architecture as appropriate; and communicating principles of effective systems development and acquisition…”

This is an SES position that also requires: “Senior-level experience in leading a workforce for a large, diverse, and complex IT program; knowledge of public health, healthcare, or scientific research missions, and programs; senior-level experience in managing a major IT portfolio of projects, systems, investments and acquisitions; ability to build and maintain working relationships and partnerships with individuals and organizations to convey information to support and defend the organization’s IT program externally to high-level officials, Congress, federal, state, and non-federal agencies…” Read the full job description here.
