Former HHS Health Information Exchange Program Director takes on new role with ONC

Larry Jessup has taken on a new role as Branch Chief at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.

Former roles have included:

  • Acting Director, HHS where he co-lead the $1 million dollar and six (6) FTE Interagency Agreement with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) staff and supported the Quality Payment Program-Small Underserved Rural Support (QPP-SURS) effort.
  • Deputy Division Director, HHS where he was responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of three nationwide cooperative agreement programs totaling $33M: the Advance Interoperable Health Information Exchange (HIE) Program ($29.6M); the Admission, Discharge, and Transfer Alert Notification Program ($2.5M); and the Community Interoperability and HIE Program ($1.0M).
