CDC issues Solicitation for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Value Added Network (VAN)

As a part of Vaccine Management Business Improvement Project (VMBIP), CDC has implemented a vaccine ordering and management information system called the Vaccine Tracking System (VTrckS). “This is a Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP)-based enterprise-wide ordering supply chain management system integrating vaccine ordering, management, and forecasting that enables far more effective and efficient management of CDC’s public vaccine program. In this supply chain, the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Value Added Network (VAN) supports e-commerce between CDC and vaccine manufacturers who supply vaccine to support the VFC program. At CDC, the EDI infrastructure is managed by the Management Information Systems Office (MISO).”

“The project objective is to provide EDI VAN subscription for data exchange between CDC information systems and information systems used by its partners.”

The SOW involves the “Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Value Added Network (VAN) License for 20,000 KCs (Kilo Characters) per month with Secure FTP capability. Additionally, an option to procure additional 10,000 KCs with availability within 48 hours in case of urgent need.”

Responses are due by June 8, 2018.
