HHS HRSA issues sources sought related to Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN)

HRSA has issued a combined solicitation and sources sought related to the operation of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN).

“In performance of this contract, the Contractor shall meet all of the requirements of NOTA; other relevant legislation and regulations, including the OPTN final rule; shall support the OPTN in administering the OPTN Charter, Bylaws, and policies (consistent with applicable laws and regulations); and shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, materials, equipment, and facilities as needed to support the OPTN as indicated in the tasks listed in the PWS. The Bylaws, policies, and structures of any other organization shall not be submitted in technical proposal or used to guide the operations of the OPTN.”

“The major objectives to be accomplished include: Obtaining consistency of the OPTN and the Program with the National Organ Transplant Act and the OPTN final rule; improvement of national organ allocation policies to maximize the benefit of transplantation to those with end-stage organ failure, consistent with the requirements of the OPTN final rule; evaluation and improve performance of the OPTN, using objective measures, to minimize organ wastage and to maximize transplant benefit, patient safety, and system efficiencies…”

Responses are due by April 30, 2018.
