“The “Director – Customer Engagement/Business Development” position will work with our Military and Veteran Health Business Unit. The Director will be responsible for selling Cognosante solutions and subject matter expertise to Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, and related clients and prospects. The Director will develop new business opportunities for sales, advancing opportunities through the capture cycle, and positioning Cognosante for growth in these agencies. This role will develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for opportunities/pursuits in these agencies as assigned by the General Manager, and is accountable to successfully execute winning capture strategies.
The successful candidate should be an accomplished “self-starter” who understands and/or desires to learn the intricacies of doing business with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense Health agencies. Additional duties consist of administrative support, operations support, capture and proposal development support.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaboration with VA, DHA, and DoD account(s)
- Identify leads and make initial customer contact, and coordinate the scheduling of management reviews to determine the viability of pursuing opportunities
- Qualify, research, track and develop leads into viable business opportunities; develop business case for pursuing opportunities and forecast potential revenue; participate in opportunity identification: bid decision to final submission
- Make clients aware of Cognosante technical and professional core capabilities
