HIMSS-NCA: Measuring the Effectiveness of Value-Based Care for Federal Providers

[su_pullquote align=”right”][su_quote]HIMSS NCA remains a must attend event for those individuals interested in networking with executives from across the broader Federal Health IT community. [/su_quote] [/su_pullquote]
WHEN:
Thursday, April 21, 2016, 5:30PM – 8:00PM
WHERE: Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA

The U.S. health system is evolving from one that is focused on treating illness and injury, to one focused on improving overall population health and managing chronic conditions. In the past, health care providers were paid based on the volume of individual services they delivered; a system referred to as fee-for-service. Moving forward, they will see more of their reimbursements tied to bundled payments, quality measures and patient satisfaction, along with incentives for reducing the total cost of care; a system referred to as fee-for-value…

G2X TAKE: With a panel led by Optum Senior VP for Federal Business Strategy and Development (part of United Healthcare), it should be no surprise that this event will focus on having Fed Health IT executives from VA, CMS and DHA discuss the rapidly changing U.S. health system and its continued evolution from one focused on treating illness and injury, to one focused on improving overall population health.

The speakers are still listed as invited, so keep an eye out as the names are likely to change in the coming weeks. Regardless, HIMSS NCA remains a must attend event for those individuals interested in networking with executives from across the broader Federal Health IT community.
